Controllers too much for Euston
Oct 7th 2007 I Crison Controllers W - L Euston

The Controllers comfortably took care of business despite Euston fighting hard till the end, as they brought their KAMPI record to 4-1.

The Controllers again started with guards Clive Castillo and Delfin Manolos, who was joined by captains Ryan Abeleda, Banj Abeleda and Chris East.

Euston came out strong, scoring the early buckets. Castillo was off in shooting in the first few minutes and taken off early as he picked up 3 needless fouls in the early stages. Speedy guard Delfin Manolos showed tenacious defense and hustle as he kept hounding the Euston players, covnerting turnovers and steals. Controllers led in the first half.

After the break, Euston team-talk seemed to work as they managed to force their way to within 3 points of the rookie team. Euston who was in contention for th Rookie Team of the Year with Controllers last season remember. However, it was the young ones who prevailed."

It was raining 3s from young guard J.J. Salonga as he shot 4/7 from the 3 point field, scoring a overall 12 points, his current season high. Banj Abeleda however again topped all scorers. In the ifrst half Abeleda found himself scoring a lot of garbage buckets after fighting for rebounds. He showed he can score even though his shot is not falling down.

Castillo added to his double digit run by scoring 10 points all in the second half. Castillo spoke of his performance; "It was stupid getting the fouls in the beginning, after I got them, I knew I was gonna sit out al ot of minutes. But I feel I showed a lot of character that even surprised myself to be able to knock down my shots in the second half."

Controllers now face off with champions Jireh International next, who currently tops the table, next week.
