First of all, does anyone know what was discussed at the KAMPI meeting on the 2nd May?
I have read their special announcement on their website regarding a KAMPI West League which is not a part or represented by them, which makes me believe their could be a rift between some organisers?
The KAMPI League in East London will be more competetive as I've heard that the better Teams will be playing there. The only dissapointment with this is the venue, as the Eastlea Basketball Court is relatively smaller than previous courts KAMPI have booked.
Let us know of any other News or Issues regarding our beloved sport within our Filipino Community.
BTW...hope everyone saw Hatton get knocked the f*ck out by KUYA MANNY!!!!
I heard the Kampi West league will be the better league as it is more central. I think controllers will be playing there plus DMCI. It will be somewhere in Battersea as far as I am aware.
I guess we've both heard differently, either way, the champions of each league should play against each other, or the committee should think about doing an all-star team from both leagues? I guess we'll know more when the time is nearer.
Kampi East (Canning Town) and Kampi West (Northolt, Middlesex) are both claiming to have the most competitive teams in their respective leagues. According to Kampi East, Kampi West are a "break-away" league using the Kampi name. Either way, they should actually do the decent thing and work together and capitalise on Filipino basketball in London. What's the point in splitting up, they are only going to divide the filipino people that just want to play basketball!!! My suggestion would be to have an East vs West finals and even have an all star game as suggested above.
northolt high school has got a pretty new sports hall. This could possibly be the venue for Kampi West. I think that which ever league has the better venue will attract the better teams. To be honest I hated playing at Lister. Thats why Slough attracts top teams partly because the venues are good( appart from that Thames Valley concrete floor crap).
If there has been a rift I doubt they would agree to a east west final.

To be honest, Berkshire League is the best ... nah.. joke only peepzz .. :) ..
If kampi west will be at northolt, that's a meager 10-15 miles away in Berks's main sporting venue.
About an all star game, just watch this year's ambassador's cup where various UK Leagues got entry already I think.
Anyhow, goodluck everyone... ^_^
Peace :)

Does anyone know when and where this ambassadors cup will be taking place??
Are there applications??
I think a sort of inter city tournament would be good. Somewhere like Birmingham could hold over 2 days and have a knockout system like the last ambassadors cup. If there where a lot of entrants it could be held over 2 weekends.
So the KAMPI East is starting this Sunday, anyone know of any definite teams playing apart from the defending Champs?
Heard rumours that KAMPI West might not go ahead now coz they couldnt get enough teams? Also I'd like to know how a player (Carmona) can be part of a committee (KAMPI West)?? Isn't that a bit biased??
Looking forward to the Ambassador's Cup if there is one, will be good to have other competetive filipino leagues making up an all-star line-up and fighting for top spot in the country.
Kampi West with a player on the committee?? Thats BS!!! You either play or be part of the committee!! You can't do both!!! We all knew that Kampi was biased to his team before anyway, what more if he is on the actual committee. You might as well not bother with the league. No, boycott!!!!
I heard there's a team called "Sure Money" who are a team to beat this year in Kampi East... hehehe.. They used to be called Knights back in the day!!! lol.. ; )
Also there's Celestial Travel aka Controllers who I know are entering the East...
Yes Kampi East commences this Sunday at 10am in Eastlea School..
