Does anyone out there know who the organisers are for the Ambassador Games?

I need a contact (phone/email). Guys from psuk says there's a Birmingham bball team in the comp but my contact (one of the league organisers and person who organises inter-city friendlies) in B'ham has no clue what the Ambassador Games is.

According to the psuk website its on on 14th april at battersea youth. it says 'games', does that mean they're runnin more than just the bball comp?!?

Teams from the Tyneside, Manchester, Birmingham and Sussex are joining. I think Epsom represents KAMPI and ML represents KAPIS. And PSUK have picked players from various teams.

yes im really looking forward to this event but i reckon the organisers should of picked a better location becuase it is a big event to hold. if all those teams are comming down you know there are gona be alot of supporters etc comming with them and lister is not gona hold alot of people. which will spark safety issues etc. first i heard they were gona do it in crystal place then it changed to newham sports center now it moved to lister school.

anyway whats done is done i hope the 3 teams in london represent the best for the uk.

peace

Probably too late to change it now but Lister is way too small.

KAMPI like to keep to what they now best plus they can serve food there. A lot venues will not allow this.

Looking forward to watchin some good games doh...!!! if theres room...lol smile

central and east london should do well with the talent base they've got.

ive played (for b'ham) against a very strong liverpool side a couple of years ago.  if they bring the same group, it should be very interesting...they had a very professional approach and very organised.  b'ham's got a couple of strong regulars as well...

it's just a matter of who's got the best team chemistry on the day (epsom's biggest advantage)

Here's the first five though...I think...biggrinbiggrinbiggrin

Worrell furious, Lakubtan , De Guzman , Morris and Cappistrano

Very interesting results today on Ambassadors Cup, You can see how a real champion really plays having a heart of a winner. or a heart of a Lion. That is what champions are really made off...... You know what I mean???????

I once heard that Central London is a weak team,, well splat on your face whoever said that becasue you are OUT OF THE GAME!!!! LOSERS!!!!

My bet for the championship is PSUK very tough to beat even with the might of Epsom. Think about the two towers Mike and Worrel with the speed and good defence of Jojo Sy, fast break by JP and with matching supporting guards is almost impossible to beat.

Even if Epsom would play dirty( as they did with ML )I don't think it would work, I would say goodbye with the Epsom regime for now is a different ERA.

Good tournament. My team of the tourney, PORTSMOUTH. They did very well against central london. Unfortunately, Central got off to a good start and then the refs controlled the rest of the game. But thats just my opinion. Im sure there are others who beg to differ. Game of the tournament was the game on saturday between Epsom and East London. This really shud have been the last game of the tourney, but thats they way it goes im afraid............Hey weve come to expect these sort of things havent we. Anyone else with an opinion??

c'mon man, dont be too hasty of judging sometimes, have u seen the championship yesterday? if so then u could give a better comment than that, im not against either on both teams, or even im not playin in any team on this league due to sched. but if u sed that it was saturday's game between east london and epsom was a better game than yesterday. I dont know if your being be real. you see central london was a better team yesterday, ever since epsom started their era i never seen any team who fought despite for the disadvantage they have, c'mon for real if u r rili a basketball player u can observed,i mean if u watched the game yesterday, have u seen carmona played that way since he quit from PBA? iv seen him played here, he just recieved the ball in the base line and shoot, that is the same plays over and over since he came here, but yesterday he fought for rebounds and do body contact, and thats the way he used to play in his PBL days, u know why? because epsom knew their opponent yesterday can possibly kill them if they took them lightly. the big guys of central london were not present, but joey c. jojo sy, adap and that new player gave a real championship to be watched. Well epsom deserves to win of course but we cannot deny to give credit also for the central london. Cental london players well done. You should be proud of yourselves. people expected they will trailed you 30 pts, but i think their just ahead 6 pts. the game was closed. and ambassador's cup was succesful congrats guys... more ambassadors cup to come. hope i can play next tym...lol even the posistion of waterboy..hehehehe

I watched both games and I think the Epsom vs East London was a better team game. Central London seemed to rely on individual efforts. Like the MVP from central made a lot of his own points. Also saturdays game was a fairer game. I think the final was spoiled a bit by referees decisions, but then again this is an ongoing problem thats been ever present for awhile. Don't get me wrong Central played very well in the final, but the comment about Carmona is a bit much, he didnt play any harder in this game than saturdays. He just adjusted to the opponent. The thing about Epsom is they know how to win. They analyse how the opponent plays and adjust there game to beat the opponent.
Personally I would like to see a game between Central and the East. That would be one to watch. Alot of good matchups.......Oh yeah well done to Jojo Sy yesterday. He was all over the court and played like a 20 year old. Way to hustle!!!!

well we all know bout ref's and we all know also know that mostly all games here played individually, league here is way out from the adjustment game back in the phil. we cant just see it through to epsom because they are too mature to do it, and they are too mature to know the game. As you see man when you say individualy you play it by your own talents, witout any play to follow. Passing, driving, shooting...once you do it without team plays thats individualy playin. Our coach used to call it "own resort" league like ambassdor making 2 to 3 plays is a bit imposible, you need a month to master it. well for the epsom they got all the advantage, the talent, the experience, and the composure...well yah its nice to see east vs central i think it would be a more exciting game because the age gap is not that far.... so they are all agressive and speedy.. i like to watch a fast pace game. And east vs central might be one of it. well with all do respect to the MVP at least he showed that "we" who are not XPRO should not be intimidated by the likes of EPSOM, cause someone should step up for central london yesterday and it happened that guy did, john dela cruz is a shooter but yesterday he went short all the time and no big guys around for central, i think the comittee picked him to be MVP coz he is the one who made the game exciting.. coz its not good to watch a lousy championship especialy like ambasdor's cup, if that was east and epsom that would be better, but unfortunately not, but still it was a good game, family and friends were all shouting...fun.. anwie its nice to see a team which is composed by young specially who grew up in london "one of them"... :) to be hailed as a CHAMP next time...cheers

i playd for east london on sat, which was a very good game but i also watched the final and in my opinion i found the final more exciting to watch!
maybe people were saying sat's game was better because we were winning at one point and then epsom were and then we were and it kept on changing hands but sundays game was more about who wants to win more! and i found the game very good basketball everyone was happy at the end at wat they have achieved , which is what basketball is all about! jojo sy was all over the place like he was marking everyone on the court man to man and i also have to give it up to old school joey cap caz he was going to the hole and getting rebounds and shoooting still with a hurt ankle! and you neva know the game mite of been different if central had worrell the center and mike the ref!!!

this is just my opinion

It was definitely one of the best and hardest finals I've played in. The mood was cool, we were the underdogs, were expected to be slaughtered but maybe we had some luck left on our side. Our 3 big guys, Worrell (ankle), Mike Umana (awol) and Joey and Chris Dizon were the unlucky ones to have sustained injury during the competition.

Why didn't we see it coming? At the beginning of the second half, Epsom's full court press on our point guard shocked us. They overturned our lead of 3 pts, to them leading by 6 pts in about 2 minutes! From then on, we were just playing catch up, although we played more intense led by man of the match JP Lakubtan. Binuya and Carmona were unable to stop him without fouling.

Central london's Chris Cunanan (Morris on the vest) was fouled out with about 8 minutes left. He also played really well, both offense and defense. Can elevate even though he looks overweight...jawdrop.gif  joke joke joke....haheheh

Epsom's Tubeza took over from Bravo when he went off injured with an ankle injury(?) pray.gif early in the second half when he tumbled on the floor with Capistrano. Joey said he heard something snapped. Possibly his long hair smacking the floor...he should use a conditioner so they don't get too sticky and hard when he sweat.biggrin  I hope it's not too serious...if it's tendon snap, goodbye basketball.

Reyes is very good and physically strong kinda player. Quite chatty during the stop of play but like to show his elbow when going for a layup quite often and likes to intimidate with his sharp eye look afterwards...ignore.gif you lose if you bite back furious. Ask Eric De Guzman...he tumbled with him a few times...hahaha. grrrrowlllll...Eric nearly lost all his hair trying to slow him down...

Interesting conflicting comments from 2 refs on Saturday when we played Southahmpton. John dela Cruz strayed under the basket and went off the court and back in, even without receiving the ball, the match ref blew his whistle and called a technical on Dela Cruz. PSUK ref  Mike Umana disagreed. He said such rule do not exist.

Aym so sori...Master Lacubtan....I think I'm going by what's written on his vest on Sunday. Jeez...I don't even like him why should I say Sorry? The fact that I am taller than him, he jump higher than me!!! BITCH.. how do you do that? Here's another guy that jumps high for his height...Trey of Sunics. 5'5 and he can touch the rim...bitch how do you do that? It's not like I am a slow coach or anythin' but maybe cos I never needed to jump high when I was younger as I was already one of the tallest in high school days in the Phils. But now, I have to put in more effort just to keep up with the younger players.

Hmmmmmmmmm......

I am quite disappointed to hear that some of the Birmingham players were not prepared to travel down to London for the games, hence the reason for the weak line up. Otherwise, they might have had a chance to progress to the semis.hmmcryblankstareconfused

Ya, it was Binuya. the tall Kingsom player. I think it was by two hands but it popped out, he was quite tired as it was in the last few seconds of the game. I bet he'll make sure he does right on saturday against us BC at PSUK!

Yes, you are actually right. He was very tired. He has no chance to practice his slam dunk skills. I bet if there is a basketball court where he lives you would see a lot of that happening in his games. I am not one of the players or part of the organisers I am just a person who happened to be in the area. I heard from the people who was on the way to Lister that there is a game between Epsom and Central London. I happened to know that Epsom player. He really is a very good player. And if I may add, he is good looking too. I wonder if he is married?

I agree - fackol_knight chats nothing but nonsense. He even copied my name "knight". Lol. And for the record he DID NOT play for Knights before coz they dont have ppl like him on their team.

so can I advise ppl... If you dont have anything useful to write in this thing... dont bother writing it.... Its a waste of space.... And were wasting our time reading it... No doubt I bet I will get a reply to this with some more nonsense with fobbish english and start telling me to meditate or something LOL
