Kampi League 2007

Are ML entering a team this year?  If not where will the players go?  It will be a shame if they don't enter.

Hopefully there will be less teams this year.  It would be better if there were only 12 to 14 teams.  And also no more east and west.  It gets frustrating when you have to wait 3 weeks between games like what has happened in the past.  And the teams that dont bother turning up when they can no longer qualify,  what are we goin to do about them.

Personally I like the ELSA format, top 8 qualify.  It gives you more to play for. PSUK only has top 4 and even though there is still 4 or 5 games remaining you basically know already whos in and whos not.

Maybe this year more people should attend the Kampi meeting so we can make sure that we get our views across and make sure the rules and regulations are understood and written down with people signing them and things to make it official.  No more making things up as we go along.

In the meeting we could bring up things like the venue, coz if were paying 500 to 600 pounds we should be getting something at least as good as PSUK venue if not better.  Not the kitchen lino flooring of lister with the unhygenic changing rooms.

Anyone got any suggestions?

i agree totally again with what you are saying!

firstly NO ML are not entering this year but maybe next year!

becuase we have been playing with each other for a while some players wanted a change just for one year. so some are going to a new team called embassy (i think) and the rest will stay together and stick with the rosewood team thats in psuk. as for myself i dont think ill be taking part this year but maybe next yr! but ill be following my team to every game of course!!! WESTSIDE!!!!

Mr Editor,

I heard that the Embassy has a team this year, being oragnised by PSUK. I think this could be the Central London team from Ambassadors Cup. Are you playing for them with JC or you sticking with Fil Agency?

regarding those that dont turn up. how about a fine of £20 or less for every forfeited match? this can be taken away from the bond. im assuming there is a bond deposit.

the money should go to the team that turned up! to cover for their efforts. teams pay to play. and having to play one or two less games means their not getting value for what they paid for.

this practice is common with other local competitions (football/basketball/netball/etc).

the value of £20 is just something i plucked out of my pwet...im sure someone should be able to calculate a more accurate per game cost.

Me and Joey are with KAMPAY (or BC). Embassy team will consist of players from many teams.

I am actually hoping/waiting for my petrol money from Pinoy Warriors for not turning up on Saturday. biggrinbiggrin

There should be fine for any teams that do not make it to their match unless there a very valid reason.

PSUK have held a £100 deposit for this reason and advised that £50 would be taken for each game missed.

We are hoping to enter KAMPI this year but they need to make sure the teams are getting value for the over priced entry fee.

Is Langdon not available, at least the changing rooms were half decent?

Will the refs be the same? I prusume so.

Can the complete schedule be published from the start?

How about one team captain or manager to sit near the officals desk to see how they work or to assess the reffing in a game that thier team is not in.

Maybe showing the how the money is spent / financial statement.

Bring in some new / young blood into the committee.

ETC ETC ETC ETC ETC ETC....................

I've just heard that KAMPI plan to have two divisions. with the Better teams in the higher division.

I wonder how they will select the top teams.

Also Lister is yet again the venue, seems like there are no other options.

Couldn't much more info..... but I think they got approx 18-20 teams planned so far.

Plus a knock out KAMPI KUP against both divisions.

Opening day is dis Sunday 1sy July @ Lister School @ 9am.

£500 + £100 deposit (for missing games)

Pretty much same commitee, ref, etc......

Have promised full schedule soon after season starts.

Good luck to all teams......!!!!smile

Any bets that they will completely go back on things they said at the meeting. I'll start taking bets now that the Kampi Cup wont happen.

the league sounds better league this year. it's right to have two divisions, so everyteam in the premier division know they gonna get a good run every sunday...
unlike the teams that dropout halfway through the season coz they are out. ..

as for the cup? its a real good idea. will it happen...who knows?

The 2nd venue will be announced as soon as the number of teams are established. The teams actually were to blame for the delay cos some of them did not register until last sunday.

No games for the next 2 weeks. Tour de France this Sunday and Barrio Fiesta in Hounslow the next.

Schedule should be out before the 22nd of July.

ByTheWay. U just need 3 kids to keep you active and not red bull...they just give you wiiings...biggrinbiggrinbiggrin
