first of all!! i agree with you totally, but i think it had nothing to do with the players but the ref's themselves could hav prevented what happend in the game.

also i wana just let you know that the battersea league is not acutally in battersea anymore its gona be down west at sion manning school in ladbroke grove!

if you are a sunics player, when you did walk out the kampi anounced you actually been sent home, i guess to make them look like their in control. but i doubt dere will be alot of big teams entering nex year. this has really ruined kampi reputation.

and to your police enquiry, i think all of epsom players hav got papers and if they dont, i really think it wouldnt matter due to the fact that most of the epsom players are going philly sometime this month, this the assumed real reason why kampi finishd the league early this yr. if anything the only thing the police would do at its highest is fine the kampi people for mis conduct of crowd control and thats it. this is becuase no one got hurt or injured so no charges can be made on anyones behalf.

i dont think anyone should hav won this year, or they should be a meeting between both teams and maybe re-organise a re-match.

From my experience, if it can be proven that Reyes slapped Joe De Guzman then he should be banned, followed by Tuazon who came up from the bench and threw the first(?) punch on Joe.

But let me ask this...what triggered the slap in the first place? Throughout the match, Sunics were trying to match the physical size of Epsom but only resulting to hard fouls. Epsom would not be out-fought so they fought back. I thought Carmona had the most fouls received and he was still very cool about them. But Joe, was intimidating, throwing elbows into Bravo and Carmona's faces albeit did not connect. Throwing the ball on the floor. That's misconduct. Bravo went for a layup, was fouled but his elbow and hand followed through to try and catch an opponent's face. Any player would know that that was deliberate and an unsportmanship conduct.

My main point...REFEREES (NOT KAMPI) DID NOT CONTROL THE GAME!!! They should've done more to keep the players under control!

The Sunics played dirty man. From the previous encounters they've had they knew they wud hav to do something drastic. Even last year in the Kapis league with tall ex Manchester player they still lost, so they were desperate.  The problem with the Sunics is there attitude.  Especially the number 8 who does nothing but talk trash and swear at the opponents.  They are frustrated that every year they lose it and only have themselves to blame.  De Guzman shud never have been playin for the sunics, doesn't fit there style.  Plus he was banned before for the exact sort of behaviour that was displayed in the final, and i hope that other leagues including PSUK think before allowing him to play.  I do sympathise with the Sunics and was rooting for them against ML and hopefuly next year they will learn from there mistakes.

That out of the way I think J Dela Cruz deserves nuff respect for the way he played in the game.  even with bigger opponents held his game together, and I for one was very impressed.  My advice to the Sunics wud be to get a real coach who knows the in and outs of the game, someone who can control the players in tight games.  Who knows maybe next year could be the year of the Sunics!!

the only thing i would want to say is that why has the team Sunics left before any announcement has been made. Anyway, nothing to do with all od them. They really have played wella nd it's just a shame that they have to play against the veteran team. ( Older )If only Sunics stayed as they are, same as last year this would have not happened. You can improve your team by adding someone who plays for fun rather than playing to hurt or injure onother player. You are agood team. Smart played their game and it's a normal reaction to retaliate if someone abuses anybody. Who wants to get hurt? Just let this joe hide and remain into his shell and repent for all his sins. Will he chande? I don't think so.

as a neutral (ive only ever seen 3 games there at kampi) it appeared that the refs were making some really dodgy calls against sunics.  loose ball fouls and weak fouls were called and every 50/50 situation was rewarded to smart.  dunno what the history is...dunno...are the oldies buddy buddies with these refs!?  is there way too much agro and mouth of of the youngies!?!  combination of both!?

alright there's a bit of argy bargy between certain players...but it is sort of ok as long as it remains just between 2 or 3 players....but if you have someone storming out of the bench, thats well out of order.  it wouldnt escalate to a bench clearing brawl if arguments remained on the court!  leagues elsewhere would ban and fine players like that.

anyway, the game itself was good.  but sunics shouldve known earlier that there's a mismatch on 2 or 3 positions right from the beginning.  especially at point.  smart's other ex-pro #14 killed it.  and his man (sunics dude with tatt and bit of mouth) was thrash talkin him most of the game?!  dont get that...what's wrong with vidal taking point and keep the sunics lineup big?  anyway smart big guy was just that...too big.  and he shoots as well which makes it even harder.

yep.  i am pretty sure im neutral...im just calling it as i see it.  missed that eye-gouging bit though.

everyone played rough and dirty.  both sides were dishin it out.  it was pretty even.  it was just a bit less obvious with the oldies though...they're good at it.  but thats ok, that's part of the filipino game (if intention is to win a ball, score, etc....not to injure or hurt other player)...the lesson here is if you're dishin it out, get ready on its return.  but still, that is part of the game if you choose to play that way.  once you put up a fist (or in this case rush out of the bench) that's a diff matter.

well maybe that guy from sunics have a bit of history.  i dont know.  but he sure knows how to push people's buttons...if he was a striker, he'd be winning penalties left right and centre...hahaha

No seriously, I was there and could see problems but for it to happen was total BS.

How can you justify running off a bench and punching someone. Then a riot which seemed to involve half the room. Someone even threw a chair in.

There is no money involved or payout for the winners, just throphies and metals.

We play for pride, we play for fun, we play as team mates and most importantly we play as filipinos (as this is was a philly league last time I checked) but WTF is all the BS about players historys and ball talk, dirty play & bad attitudes. Its all in the game but there is a fine line between that and physical that violence that happened on Sunday.

We have played both teams and never had serious problems. I know finals can get heated but this, from my knowlege, has never happened in a final. These teams have played each other a few times without incident. So why this time?

KAMPI ask yourselves (Not that many of them read this, they may do now) how did you let it happen? REFS can you not control the game? Players can you not control your temper?

Lets just hope lessons have been learnt and this dose not happen again in front of the children.

It's a pity such a hard fought game ended this way.
